Tea Party Patriots are now an “Angry Mob”
Since when did speaking your mind at a town hall meeting become a crime in America? Oh, yeah, I remember now…it was November 4, 2008!
Virtually every poll taken in the last few weeks shows a majority of Americans oppose the current healthcare reform legislation being pushed hard in Congress by the White House and the Democrat Party. Most Americans like the health care they receive now and understand the U.S. has the best health care system in the world hands down. President Obama’s administration is using fear and overstated figures about how many people are uninsured to force fundamental change to one of the cornerstones of the economy. And now that details of the government run plan have doomed the legislation in D.C., the President and Democrat Congressmen are crying fowl when We the People stand up in public and say no to this terrible plan.
Following the wildly successful April 15th Tea Parties, Democrats and the liberal media tried ignoring our voices. Then they turned to unspeakable name calling, referring to us as “tea baggers,” an awful reference which I will not stoop to explain. At every turn, the majority party has resorted to the politics of personal destruction, character assassination, and outright lying to defend its policies. It seems to me that liberals led by the President are avoiding one of the principles this country was founded upon; freedom of speech.
Now, the White House is asking us to tell on each other; report directly to the White House any conversations or emails which seem ‘fishy’ . For the first time in the 233 year history of this Democratic Republic, a President is pitting citizens against each other. Which is more un-American, free citizens protesting actions of the government or the government protesting the words of its citizens?
The Constitution has a clear answer; “…governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”
