Yantis Green was elected as a delegate to the Republican Party of Texas Convention from Tom Green County in 2002,2004,2006 and 2008.

He was elected to three terms on the Christoval ISD Board of Trustees where he served as secretary.

Yantis has also worked on several local, state, and national political campaigns including serving as the campaign manager for the late Kevin Housley’s run for Texas State Representative.

Most recently, Yantis worked as a fund raiser for the Mitt Romney Presidential campaign and was a key member of Texans for Mitt.

Yantis was elected Delegate No. 1 from Congressional District 11 to the 2008 Republican National Convention at the Republican Party of Texas Convention in Houston in June. He was endorsed by the Texas Pro-Life Pro-Family Coalition and led the CD11 delegation to the Republican National Convention in 2008 including Mike Kaufman, Brandon Pinson, Greg Simmons, Caleb Weatherl, and Andrew White.

Yantis graduated from Grape Creek Elementary School in 1978 and San Angelo Lake View High School in 1981. He received a B.A. in Journalism with a minor in Speech from Angelo State University in 1989. Yantis attended graduate school in the Department of English at ASU from 1993 to 1995. He taught freshman Composition as a teaching assistant at ASU.

Yantis & Sheryl married in 1992 and raised two sons; Ryan & Paul. Ryan is a US Marine stationed in North Carolina. Paul is a full time student at ASU. Sheryl is the Director of the Business Office at Shannon Clinic.

Yantis is the former News Director for KGKL, INC. and has written over 8,000 news articles about San Angelo, Tom Green County and West Texas. He is currently the District Manager of the Tom Green County Water Control Improvement District headquartered in Veribest, Texas.
